IN LOVELY AND LIVELY BLOOMINGTON

We have now been for 2 days at Bethany's in Bloomington. The city appeared to be really cozy and actually really beautiful. It is December now, and can only imagine how it is during the summer time or in autumn colors! Well we've seen the cycling movie already in Finland, represented by Bethany... Check it out: Breaking Away.

Bethany gave us a tour around the university of Indiana, walked around the campus. Been to some ethnic restaurants (there is one street full of ethnic restaurants from burmese to eritrean and everything between, tomorrow going to try out the Tibetian). Today we went to see the Tibetian community center, which was also one of the highlights so far. Believe this or not: His holiness himself, Dalai Lama, visits Bloomington frequently! He has been here 2007 last time giving lectures at the university. Bethany has vitnessed this. And as we saw at the tibetian center, he is coming back in May 2010 again. I didn't know Dalai Lama travels like this. During his visits, he accommodates in that center.

I have tasted like maybe 10 different kinds of American beers so far. Bethany's father seems to have taken himself a mission to introduce this field to me, as the reputation of American beers aren't very good... And he has proved this prejudice wrong already.

It is 6 AM in Finland as I'm writing this, and I'm feeling quite tired. Finally got over from the jetlag!
