CHICAGO AND LAKE MICHIGAN HENCE WINDY CITY

Last 6 days we spent in Chicago. Arrived there sunday 20th Dec, us Finns, Bethany and her father Doug. Rest of the Dusseau's would join us christmas eve.
Monday went first to the Field museum, where the biggest and the most complete T-Rex dinosaurus exists. It was something huge to actually see the skeleton of Sue, but the rest of the museum was even more impressive. Browsed through all the eras since the Big Bang through dinosauruses, through human kind. They have all kind of skeletons of dinosauruses, man, insects, birds, reptiles etc.
I was told this is one of the greatest exhibitions in the world of this kind, and I really believe it now.
I have never spent like 5 hours in a museum so easily and full of enthusiasm. And yet they had really impressive Egypt -collection too, way much bigger than the one in Hermitage. And still had so much to see but no time: American, African, Chinese and Tibetian sections for example. But had to get going to the next place for the day: The Sredd Aquarium.
I was told this is one of the greatest aquariums in the world, and i really believe it now.
They had huge collection of different kind of creatures that live in water from all around the world. Very creepy ones too. But the greatest part were the big animals, sharks and dolphins. And pengues would've been too, they were kept in dark for some reason.
The day ended to a small tour through China Town.

Tuesday I got to go to see a NHL -game with Doug. The local Blackhawks - San Jose Sharks. The Union Center was full of spectators, over 21 000 people, but their cheering 'let's go hawks' only resulted 2-3 defeat.
The statistics: Dany 'Killer' Heatley SJ 1+1, Joe Thornton SJ 1+1, Hossa CHI 1+1, Kane CHI 1+1. Huet Chi 14 saves, Nabokov SJ 47 saves.
In the hockey game, I tasted Italian beef with Budweiser, which completed the 3 things one got to do when in Chicago (according to Doug): 1.Chicago style pizza 2.Chicago style hot dog 3.Italian beef and a bud in a hockey game.
Earlier that day, went among other places up to the Hancock Tower.

Wednesday went to the city again, and found the place where the famous gangster John Dillinger was shot dead: Biograph theather, which used to be a movie theater at dillinger times, now it is a play theater.
Anyway, we went just to see the spot, but when found out that Snow Queen -play is starting in 10 minutes, bought tickets and saw a great play. The story is Hans Cristian Andersen's and it is located to Finmark in the end, so it was pretty cool to see. There was an after talk, where we could listen and discuss about the play with the actors and directors.

Thursday was already a christmas eve, so went to downtown just to do some final shoppings. The christmas party was among the family and relatives, and us Finns giving them some exotica to their christmas.

what else...Total plates observed: 30 out of 50 + 2x Ontario Canada.

Now we are back in Finland, and sometime soon propably getting another idea for traveling.... so long!!
